Welcome! I'm Melanie. I've been a working actor for almost two decades and transitioned into voiceover full time in 2020. I've since voiced national and regional commercials, corporate narration, eLearning, instructional/explainer videos, IVR/telephony, and audiobooks, all in my broadcast quality Studiobricks home studio. I pride myself in being an intuitive and easeful collaborator and my ultimate goal is to tell your story with honesty and authenticity.
Born into a big Puerto Rican family and raised in NY, I can bring an authentic Latina accent to any project that calls for it, with the ability to speak simple Spanish words and phrases as well. My natural accent is neutral American and my tone has depth and range - from relatable, confident, engaging, and empathetic to soothing, sexy, and smooth.
With years of experience as a musical theatre actress, most notably swinging across stages in the UK and US as Nickleodeon's Dora the Explorer, I have the unique ability to voice many different animated characters as well. Just listen to the very last spot on my animation demo, I think it'll give you a good feel for my vocal versatility :).
As an audiobook narrator, I recently narrated over 400 episodes of a serial fiction contemperoray romance piece for the app Radish Fiction. I've had the pleasure of collaborating with Harper Collins, John Marshall Media, Common Mode, Dreamscape Media, Podium Audio, and One Night Stand Studios. Inspiring stories that elicit feelings of love, hope, humor, and joy are my favorite.
I'm also certified in Mindfulness Meditation and Integrative Nutrition and have a way of bringing others a sense of peace and calm. Mental, physical, and spiritual wellness are so important to me and are my daily priorities. My favorite pastimes include the simple things in life like laughing with my children and husband, hiking and exploring, and bingeing reality tv.
